Blanchetts Fine Furniture is a local business manufacturing fine upholstered furniture that has been operating for almost 20 years.

We supply furniture to both ends of our country and all places in between, even to faraway places overseas. Not bad for a relatively unknown local firm. We now want to be known to you.

 Whilst we are still predominately manufacturers of new furniture, we offer restoration and re upholstery for those who like what they already have and are keen to rejuvenate the inside workings and fabric. We support saving furniture from the landfill by giving it a new lease of life. We suggest you consider this.

Blanchetts offer a full design service including window treatments and fitting. We are able to source fabrics from most of the fabric houses. Our factory at 58 Napier Road has a selection of fabrics and a small showroom where you are able to try out the comfort of our lovely furniture and experiment with fabrics. It is an opportunity for you to see what is actually under the fabric of a sofa or chair. In the case of a Blanchetts piece, you will find a solidly constructed frame that will last a very long time. We also custom make to your specific requirements.

What about this in your Castle?

We have just completed this lovely Knole sofa which will soon be looking for a new home. The Knole sofa originates from the 17th Century when it initially served as a formal throne before becoming a comfortable draught proof seat. The sides are hinged and secured using elaborate cord tie backs. It is comfortable and quite a talking point in any setting.

The original Knole sofa is housed at Knole in Kent, a house owned by the Sackville-Wests family since 1605 and  now in the care of the British National Trust, but I digress.

Blanchetts Fine Furniture is proud to continue the making of traditional furniture as well as re-furbishment of fine old pieces. We have been known to rework the original horse hair fill of a French bench sofa that was over two hundred years old. One is left wondering of the history of the furniture whilst sifting through two centuries of dust whilst repairing springs and re strengthening the glorious old timber.

Decades ago the thought that our senses could ever be overloaded would have been discounted as nonsense.
